There is a major story unfolding in Japan yet the media is not going anywhere near it. I've had Fox on all night and haven't heard one word about Japan. Instead, today's major story is the countdown to government shutdown/budget woes and Libya to the power of 10squared.
Japan may have reached the point of no return with its failed nuclear plant and that is not a story! Wow!
Why?
General Electric designed this failing nuclear plant. GE also owns NBC News, CNBC, MSNBC, and in part The Weather Channel.
It's easy to see why GE would want the story buried.
Viacom is the most recent incarnation of Westinghouse CBS which is part of British Nuclear Fuels. Westinghouse services the nuclear power industry! Huh. How about that.
It's easy to see why CBS would want the story buried.
Disney owns ABC. It's easy to guess that Disney would have an interest in not promoting anything resembling fear which might hinder decisions to take a nice vacation to a theme park, yes?
But Fox News? I search for a link to nuclear energy and find none.

The only tidbid I found is Rupert Murdock's third wife (pictured, left) who is from China which neighbors Japan! And that's no reason to skip out on the Japan story. Is it?
Except China doesn't much like Japan. That's silly.
Is there a conspiracy to keep the story quiet so there is no panic (as well as no preparation?) I wonder. If there is any truth to that, they are lucky for Libya which is allowing for the missing Japan story to stay missing. TV news is on an endless and ridiculous loop of Libya.
All I know is this very large and looming nuclear meltdown story is conspicuously missing from television news and it is every bit the story Chernobyl was.
Something is wrong.
At first, reporters from every media outlet were reporting with vigor from Japan.
After the first two explosions, the media made its exit and has not returned.
Who/how is putting the word out that this story must be avoided?

To fill your thyroid with iodine as an antidote to radiation, the word is - kelp is very efficient.
Other food choices include asparagus, garlic, lima beans, mushroom, spinach, summer squash, and turnip greens. All my favorites.
Wouldn't hurt to indulge in some of these food choices.
Internet news reports that yes, Fukishima is in dangerous meltdown.
